Does HostGator allow you to put a search engine on your site?

I want people to be able to search for an older blog post. Does it allow that? I checked the plans, it didn’t say anything about that.

Also, if I use Hostgator will my site show up on search engines like google?

I am unaware of the options available with hostgator, but if you have to ask here what hostgator offers, that is, if hostgator doesn’t have a 24/7 tech support. why would you ever even think of deal with them?

I use bluehost.com and they offer that and so much more. The only thing they don’t allow is for you to make a pr0n site, which is ok by me since I’m not into pr0n.

And hey, for less than $7.00 a month AND a free domain name, they can’t be beat!

As far as I know it’s the website owner responsibility to make their site searchable, if you’re using WordPress as your blog content management it comes with a feature like that already.

You can submit your site to google so that it can index it at http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl sometimes it takes weeks before it’ll show up. There are a lot of other things that will determine if it’ll show up on the first page of google in a serach that is called SEO.
