HostPapa Hi all,
I have some some domains registered at Godaddy but I want to host the website at Host gator – Can this be done?

Yes it can.
You just have to log in to your Godaddy account and insert the Hostgator nameservers,
then log in to your Hostgator account and add the domain name you’ve registered through Godaddy.

Unless you change it, Godaddy is and will stay your “registrar”, HostGator will become the “host” of your web files, you just have to redirect your “name” servers from godaddy to your hostgator account.
Log into your GoDaddy Account
Go to Domain Manager
Choose the Domain Name
Click Manage Name Servers
Click “I Host My Domains w/ another provider”
Add name servers from HostGator Acct Example: NS1 or NS2
Get you name servers from your HostGator Acct

You can also transfer your domains to hostgator to make life a little bit easier for yourself…
They will ask you if you would like to use your own domain, click yes; and then you can type that in, the only thing that you would have to do after that is point your nameservers to your domain(s) that are hosted with godaddy with the nameservers that are given to your through HostGator.
After the domains have been pointed to the nameservers you can upload your files and it should work just as if your domain was hosted with HostGator.
